If you like a slower flying airplane with plenty of response and personality, this airplane won't let you down.

Lined up for Runway
Slowing for Touchdown

The first few flights have been uneventful and required almost no yaw or roll trim. However, I had to put in a good bit of down trim to level the
first flight. The initial flight began after a 50 foot run and a steep climb followed. The motor provided more than enough power to climb at a 45
degree angle without stalling the wing. The power was reduced to 50% and was enough to maintain altitude and fly around the circuit
utill enough down trim was applied. I have since added more down-thrust and have been able to remove most of the down trim. After four
flights the plane is responding well with vigorous rolls and adequate vertical performance for most pilots.

I am including photos taken at various steps during the fuselage, wing and tail construction. The King Altair kit by
Home & Hobby Solutions
is complete and an excellent example of good engineering and is accompanied
with many construction photos. If these additional photos help you with your project, then I feel that it was
worthwhile for me to take the time to produce this site.

This version of the King Altair will be powered by a Scorpion 4020-12 brushless motor. I will attempt to
provide you with enough information to enable you the option of using an alternative power system. The photos
used in this construction represent my approach to the implementation of an electric system. You may have more
experience in this area and I welcome any suggestions and ideas that will help others achieve our common goal.

This part of the site will be broken down into various stages of construction. Beginning with STAGE 1, the basic
construction through STAGE 3 and the final stage, finishing and photo's.
